Where did that free-kick rate?
In terms of West Ham only.

I'm struggling to think of a better one I've seen, I've been going since late 90's

The distance, power, curl and standard of keeper all factors I think in what made it so good.

Anyone better memories than mine recall a better WHU free-kick?

Wardy dicks and paddon went for power but footballs are different now days, you rarely see a player go all out for power now.

Re: Where did that free-kick rate?
Beckham hit loads that just went over the bar that people really rated

I think Payets was better.

Re: Where did that free-kick rate?
Graham Paddon took a mean free kick in the mid 70's, but he relied on power as opposed to placement.

When seen from behind in buster's link the ball is heading for around the middle of the goal and the keeper thought he had it covered and struggled as it just whipped away from him. Fucking unbelievable player.

1. The Theatre of Cunts yesterday
2. Bournemouth
3. Blackburn
4. the one saved against Man City at UP

They were all out of the top drawer.

Payee's so good, that it came as a real surprise when he DIDN'T bury one from that sort of position the other week.

Re: Where did that free-kick rate?
Frighteningly consistent free kick taker. I think he must be in the top 3 or 4 free kick men in world football. Would be nice to see him and Cresswells work something out. Would love to see a keeper stranded as Cresswell buries one while all eyes are on Payet

Motley I didn't remember that but excellent if he did!

That was Paul Ince's night though tbf wasn't it...

There was a story Gale told when he signed for Blackburn.

Took a shirt home for his son with his name and number on the back. His kid turned it round and said "Dad could have got me one that said Shearer"

That Gale free-kick, seem to remember a bloke ran on after he scored and high fived him.
